Bio:
Dr. Angela Williams is the Chair and Program Director of the School of Social Work at 麻豆视频. She brings decades of experience serving children, families, and communities, with a professional background rooted in school social work, trauma-informed care, and systemic advocacy.
She holds a Bachelor鈥檚, Master鈥檚, and Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She is a certified School Social Worker, a specialized and professionally trained DCBS ongoing caseworker, a licensed infant massage instructor, and a Certified Trauma-Informed Wraparound Facilitator. Her expertise also includes substance abuse and HIV research, psychosocial case management, and crisis intervention.
Dr. Williams is deeply committed to student empowerment, social justice, and educational equity. Her teaching philosophy鈥斺渄reams don鈥檛 work unless you do鈥濃 inspires students to use their lived experiences as tools for growth and leadership. She prepares future social workers to challenge systemic inequities through applied learning, reflective practice, and community engagement.
At KSU, she has served in leadership roles such as Director of Field Education and Faculty Senator. She is actively involved in accreditation, curriculum development, and building impactful agency partnerships.
Dr. Williams鈥檚 achievements include the Legacy Visionaries Award (2024), the Dr. Evelyn J. Black Social Work Award, and completion of the Kentucky Faculty Leadership Academy and CSWE Program Director Academy. She is also a member of CSWE, Phi Alpha Honor Society, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
